Maybe I've seen Murder on the Orient Express too many times, but I couldn't resist adding a detective to your train. Meet Shinichi Kudo from Detective Conan. He's a brilliant and slightly socially awkward high school detective with a talent for stumbling across cases everywhere he goes. Yes, even on trains. I'm taking him from the very beginning of his canon, shortly before he managed to get himself poisoned and turned into a child. Back before he learned things like humility and how to deal with normal people.
Apparently he's sharing a cabin with Sakura, which should be interesting.
